Name : Željka Kavran
Ausbildung / Werdegang : Željka Kavran wurde in Cakovec (Kroatien) geboren. Nach einem betriebswirtschaftlichen Studium in Zagreb und erster Berufserfahrung in diesem Bereich, absolvierte Željka Kavran einen Master in Produktdesign an der Scuola Politecnica di Design in Mailand. Sie arbeitete für einige Zeit als Freelancer in Mailand für unterschiedliche Visual- und Produktdesign-Studios. Im Sommer 2009 ist sie nach Zagreb zurückgekehrt, wo sie nun in ihrem eigenen Studio arbeitet. Željka Kavran nahm in 2009 an der Roma Design Piu’ Woche, der Ausstellung DAS (Designers after school) sowie an der Mailänder Designwoche Salone Satellite teil.
Motto : „Like telling a story, trying to achieve a resolution of a thought in a finalised product. I search for ways to capture complexity in the purest of forms, without loosing the moral of the story. Derived from the constructivist nature of a socialist society as a heritage my vision is to find new ways of interpreting the geometrical form in a more human related, deco way keeping the chaos of the time we live in as a laitmotif.“
